Some of those observers have also detected the stench of sulfur or the popular term "brimstone." In part 2, writer Joshua Cutchin mentioned these uncommon scents and some of the similarities and variations among paranormal encounters.

He started out by way of stating that the smell of sulfur (or truly its smell while burned and mixed with other substances) was once regarded as cleansing. The reality that the devil was thrown into a lake of fire and brimstone was once meant not to destroy, but to cleanse the body and spirit. But in time the odor was associated with malevolent or demonic manifestations. He continued pointing out that the sense of smell is probably "a notable desire for manipulation" by way of evil entities because it's so closely related to strong recollections.
Cutchin stated that sulfurous odors are associated with negative matters due to the fact the compounds are normally found in places in which there is decay and dying. Surprisingly, witnesses often suggest that the smells of perfume and tobacco smoke around haunted locations, especially within the U.S. George asked about odors at Bigfoot sightings, and Cutchin commented that the most common reported aroma resembles "rotten eggs or a septic tank" which in case you believe that a flesh-and-blood creature can be a way to warn intruders away or communicate with other animals, such as gorillas had been discovered to do within the wild.
As for smells associated with UFOs, Cutchin says that the most common reports by abductees are both ozone or sulfur, although there is no popular smell. George recalled that researchers on the Skinwalker Ranch often detected strong smells whilst experiencing phenomena there, suggesting that there may be some commonality to numerous paranormal events.
