1937 Chashniki UFO Encounter: Child Witness Sees Humanoid Descend From the Sky
During the year of 1937, near the town of Chashniki in Belarus, a strange sighting encounter was reported by a young child who witnessed an unusual being in broad daylight.
At around eleven o’clock in the morning, seven-year-old Lyudmila Chepik was spending time in a meadow near the Uloy River, where she was tending cows and picking flowers. During this time, she noticed something unusual happening in the sky above her. She saw an UFO, or a being resembling a small man, slowly descending from the sky directly toward her location, without any parachute or visible means of descent.
The being stopped at a height of only about one to two meters above the child. According to her description, it was approximately 1.15 meters tall, with a sturdy build and broad shoulders, while its head appeared larger than normal in proportion to its body. Its waist was narrow, and it was wearing tight, dark clothing that resembled a form-fitting suit.
The girl also noticed that it was wearing heavy red boots reaching up to the knees, which appeared to be part of a wider garment at the lower section. On its head, it wore a strange helmet resembling those of ancient Russian warriors, topped with a conical protrusion shaped somewhat like an onion.
The being’s face was visible, and its skin appeared slightly reddish. It was also wearing a transparent face shield resembling glass. During the brief moments it remained near the ground, the being opened the front visor of its helmet and gave the girl a clear smile before looking around and examining the surroundings. At one point, it touched the grass with its hand while holding a small, oval-shaped device.
The encounter lasted for only about one minute. Afterward, the being waved its hands and then rose rapidly into the sky in complete silence. When it reached an estimated altitude of about 100 meters, its body appeared to gradually shrink until it became a small sphere, before completely vanishing into the air.
This incident later appeared in several records of anomalous phenomena research, including a document titled Selected Reports on UFO Sightings in the Soviet Union, compiled by researcher Alexander Kuzovkin in 1982.
