The Nation was baffled late Saturday night and during the day by Flying Saucers which had been reported by hundreds of persons. Conjectures came from scores of named and unnamed sources throughout the U.S.A. Official government sources took a "Lets See One" stand on this UFO Phenomena. Scientists preferred a detailed explanation. Accordingly fighter planes were on alert for these unknown flying disks. And at the time P-51 planes were alerted to photograph these objects.
